The Durango Discovery Museum offers high-quality discovery + science education programming. Taught by exceptional, well-trained professional staff, these programs are offered throughout the year at the Durango Discovery Kids museum site as well as at schools, community centers, and festivals in the region. Museum exhibits and education programs seek to foster inspiration, innovation, and commitment to excellence, and to expand the frontier of scientific aspiration. Currently our informal science education program consists of museum exhibits, Sudden Science after-school clubs, week-long summer Discovery Science camps, our early education discovery programming, and the Solar Roller mobile discovery center + power plant. As one component of our overall education program, the Solar Roller addresses an important educational gap for our remote populations with limited access to the STEM resources more typical of urban locales.
